Time flies! End of November? Thanksgiving (read: gluttonday)? Cool. I have an incredible lot to be thankful for. Definitely more than I can rightfully address in a day.
American professional commercial football is a morally bankrupt abomination. Real, out in the yard football is great. Playing sports and celebrating exceptional athletes is wonderful. The NFL is a mindless entertainment product explicitly for sale, not the furtherance of sports. Consumer, non-participatory football is replacing what could be meaningful culture in the US. Pro sports have replaced real "news" (new, information that is pertinent or useful to the audience) in the twenty four hour MSM cycle. Think of all the things men of our nation could share, do together, could hold up as their legacy. What does it say of the world we've created that football, professional or fantasy but almost never real, grass in the teeth football is the best thing we have for the masses to be excited, informed about, to follow?
So for thanksgiving, turn off the TV and talk to your family. If you're alone today, and you're here, then you've the intraweb (;
Dont forget to shop anything you need for Friday now, so as to participate in Adbuster's buy nothing day.
