Time flies! End of November? Thanksgiving (read: gluttonday)? Cool. I have an incredible lot to be thankful for. Definitely more than I can rightfully address in a day.
American professional commercial football is a morally bankrupt abomination. Real, out in the yard football is great. Playing sports and celebrating exceptional athletes is wonderful. The NFL is a mindless entertainment product explicitly for sale, not the furtherance of sports. Consumer, non-participatory football is replacing what could be meaningful culture in the US. Pro sports have replaced real "news" (new, information that is pertinent or useful to the audience) in the twenty four hour MSM cycle. Think of all the things men of our nation could share, do together, could hold up as their legacy. What does it say of the world we've created that football, professional or fantasy but almost never real, grass in the teeth football is the best thing we have for the masses to be excited, informed about, to follow?
So for thanksgiving, turn off the TV and talk to your family. If you're alone today, and you're here, then you've the intraweb (;

Nothing new under the sun.
From the U.S. Declaration of Independence : "... If you are watching your democracy devolve into oligarchy, it's your fault. If your way of living, your culture or government is harming or perverting the biosphere that is within your reach; it is your function, as a product of your genetics and ancestors to transcend it. Failure to adapt results in death of the individual and the extinction of the traits that made her unsuccessful in her environment. Continuing attempts to force our way of life upon this planet will result in the disappearance if our species. Hopefully by that time there will be a smaller but more evolved upright walking, tool using, group of primates ready to take over Earth. Hopefully they will have more success in developing a lifestyle that is less crippled by the narcissism and radical self entitlement of the individual.

Less in the room.
It's Sunday again here, and a light drizzle has persisted all day long. Slow-cooking split peas for dinner. I should be writing poetry, or disseminating agitprop, but I'm going to smartphone my fucking life away instead. I've been shadowed by this quote since last night.
We have bigger houses but smaller families:
We have more degrees but less sense;
more knowledge but less judgements;
more experts but more problems;
more medicines, but less healthiness.
We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but we have trouble crossing the street
to meet the new neighbour.
We build more computers
to hold more information,
to produce more copies than ever,
but we have less communication.
We have become long on quantity
but short on quality.
These are times of fast foods,
but slow digestion;
tall man, but short character;
steep profits, but shallow relationships.
It is time when there is much in the window
but nothing in the room.
And that, of course is his holiness, the Dali fucking Lama.

The sky is not the limit.
The guiding principle of our western worldview is the individuals right and ability to interpret the information available to her, and decide of her free will and opinion what will be accepted or rejected, used or discarded, embraced or opposed. The much aggrandized "freedom" that is supposedly the difference between a fulfilling and a wasted life is simply the exercised ability to choose what aspects of our surrounding reality we will give power or authority too. In your reality, your discernment is the only judge capable of identifying truth. Don't be fooled into feeling trapped. You are capable of thriving in whatever environment you find yourself in. You are free. Nothing will change or pervert your decision not to pay taxes, not eat poisoned "food", not to allow fear to compromise the way you interact with your environment. Do not give validity to the vampiric constructs of failing info-industrial civilization by accepting its propaganda, dogma, or taboos without exercising your freedom to decide for yourself if they are true or useful to you. Vote with your dollar. Stop doing things that don't feel right for you or your society. Fall out of habits. Be critical of any information you are receiving. Remember that setting an honest example to the creatures around you is one of the most powerful things you can do.
